Unnamed Group

Artists: user, username, profile_name, alias, default, name, visitor, guest, anonymous, login_name, account_name

Unnamed Group is a web-based anonymous group performance. Reflecting on the cloaked nature of the web, in a time when identity profiling is becoming more and more default, it also aims to explore the performative character of the web in opposition to a more commonly used presentational use.

This web page, as all others, is hosted on a webserver. 10 artists were individually invited and received access to this webserver to be able to edit this page. Their identities are not disclosed to the public or to each other. The only interaction they have, is within the directory of this server, or in the case of the perception of the public, within this page.

The login details were sent to the participants on the 1st of November 2015 at 20.00 CET. The performance started as soon as the first participant logged in and edited this page.

Unnamed Group is a pavilion of The Wrong (again), New Digital Art Bienale, 2015
