Schreib dein Lied!

Write your song!

An experimental performance with music and lyrics, based on new German art, folk and pop lyrics by people around us. The singer, composer and author of radio plays Oliver Augst meets the French turntable virtuoso Alexandre Bellenger and the improvisation artist and sound art festival maker Arnaud Rivière.

By means of an open invitation to tender, people of all origins were invited to submit their texts, which will now be set to music exclusively for this musical performance. Schreib dein Lied! aims to focus on our relationship to the German language in all its cultural and social forms. Our language is shaped by all those who acquire it and make use of it. It is as diverse as our society and only in all its forms the language of the “people”. These heterogeneous forms are to be brought back into the song, into the canon of cultural exchange between people who live here.

Oliver Augst: vocals, composition
Alexandre Bellenger: turntables
Arnaud Rivière: percussion, electronics
Charlotte Arens: dramaturgy, production management
